Back in 2018 I had the opportunity to travel to South Africa and photograph the landscape and wildlife of the Southern Kalahari desert. Now, about two years later, the images I took have finally come to life in the shape and form of my new project, “Kalahari Hues” - A visual ode to the fragility and beauty of the ecosystem in the southern Kalahari desert. I usually only share sneak peaks of my work until it is exhibited and this of course has been postponed due to Covid19. Therefore, amidst the craziness that is this global pandemic I believe that now more than ever is a moment to not only stay home and protect our loved ones but to reflect and appreciate the things we have perhaps taken for granted. So that when we can finally walk out into the world we can appreciate better the wonders that this natural world brings to us and do our best to protect it. So I will be sharing with you my project through Instagram and my website very soon. Having said this, stay safe and stay tuned to all my updates 🙏🏼🙌🏼.

This is what I consider to be the closest thing I can get to a blank canvas. Its blue, it’s empty and it’s endless. It’s serene. Vast landscapes and seascapes play a great role in my work. I think the reason is because not only did I grow up next to the ocean but somehow when I am in these places I feel like my mind can finally breathe...As a creative I sometimes feel like my brain doesn’t shut off, ever. I need the vastness, the openness, the endlessness so that my mind can finally organize itself. So that it can be at peace and slowly find new ideas and colours.
